It is with greatest sadness that we announce the passing of our longest member of the SCCC - Arno Sigrist. Born and raised in Basel, he moved to Toronto in 1957, but never forgot his Swiss roots. He was a member of the Swiss Club Toronto, the Swiss Canadian Chamber of Commerce and the Canadysli carnival band. Arno could be found at every event, always with a big smile and ready for interesting discussions, and was well informed even about the newest topics of AI or EV. He played the drum, the heaviest instrument that he had to carry around for the Canadysli practices and performances until this winter.

He was awarded the Swiss Citizen of the Year by the Swiss Club and the Longest Personal Member of the Swiss Canadian Chamber of Commerce. 

The fond memories many of us in the Swiss community in Toronto have, will live on! Arno, you will be dearly missed.
