The Hub has continued to work diligently to support trade and invest flows between Switzerland and Canada since our last update. May and June were intensive, yet rewarding months with participation at the International Trade Forum, company visits in Switzerland and last but not least, attendance at Collision in Toronto. The Collision Conference was enhanced by hosting a successful business and innovation networking event in partnership with the Swiss Canadian Chamber of Commerce (Ontario). This event hosted a nice mix of companies, partners and key stakeholders, which led to fruitful exchanges on key topics involving Swiss-Canadian trade relations.
Over the summer months, the Hub transitioned its investment promotion activities to now support business intelligence for all Swiss Business Hubs. This new mandate was presented at the annual Invest Academy and S-GE Investment Summit in Switzerland where in-house Business Intelligence was defined as a key priority moving forward.
Most recently, the Hub has completed its comprehensive study on smart mining in Canada with concrete paths for market entry suggested to innovative Swiss companies. The Hub was able to identify 100 Swiss companies that could strongly benefit from taking a closer look at this sector with over 200 active mines and Canadian mining companies holding assets worth more than USD 160 billion globally. To complement this study, the Hub plans to organize a fact-finding mission for Swiss companies to the PDAC conference in Toronto (March 2-5, 2025).

As the autumn turns to winter, the Hub will continue working on mandates and major projects while also preparing for a successful 2025.
Swiss-Canadian Business & Innovation Networking Event on June 24, 2025
The Swiss Business Hub Canada, in partnership with the Swiss Canadian Chamber of Commerce-Ontario hosted a successful business and innovation networking event in Toronto.
The SBH was welcomed by the Honorary Consul of Switzerland, Alexandra Soriano-Bernhard and enjoyed the hospitality of Switzerland Tourism. The Hub hosted a nice mix of companies, partners and key stakeholders, which led to fruitful exchanges on key topics involving Swiss-Canadian trade relations.
The group was able to learn more about the strong existing footprint of Swiss companies operating in Canada and also hear about our recent study on the Swiss-Based Businesses Presence in Canada. Additionally, S-GE, the SBH and the SCCC were all able to share on the strong existing network ready to help Swiss companies wishing to expand into Canada.
Many Canadian companies also joined the event to learn about Switzerland as a key business location in Europe. The SBH in coordination with the Greater Zurich Area were able to provide valuable insights showcasing the pragmatic approach Switzerland, the regions and cantons take towards helping companies set foot in our country.
