President's Message
Dear Members and SCCC Friends,
Nature has been brilliantly displaying its best colours this past month, signaling to us that the Holiday season is around the corner. I hope you and your company are joining the
SCCC Festive Year-End Gala Dinner on
Friday, November 29th, at the prestigious
1 Hotel in Toronto.
Over the last few months SCCC members and colleagues enjoyed some productive and insightful gatherings. In addition to the various networking events, we introduced the
exclusive C-Level Roundtable, a new series to exchange ideas in a smaller setting among Swiss and Canadian leaders. The event featured our Swiss Ambassador to Canada and the Caribbean
Olaf Kjelsen, and was co-organized and hosted by our corporate member
Adecco Canada at their Canadian headquarters in Toronto. The focus was on “leading through the disruption of Artificial Intelligence (AI)” where Adecco shared their latest research report. If you missed it, click
here.
The next C-Level Roundtable event will be on
November 18th at 6 pm, hosted by our Corporate Gold member
Habib Canadian Bank (a subsidiary of a Swiss bank), and in collaboration with
Adecco.
Ambassador Kjelsen, and Steffen Millner, Head of Business for Swiss Business Hub will be exploring
Swiss-Canadian relations, and a sneak peak into Adecco’s research ‘Global Workforce for the Future’. Space is limited, see details and RSVP
here.
The Swiss Business Hub, the official Swiss organization for export and investment promotion, co-hosted with us an industry networking event around the technology conference ‘Collision’, where they introduced their
comprehensive study on the 322 Swiss companies in Canada. Read
here their fall update.
The newsletter also features
Canada Switzerland News with various articles. One topic being heard in many discussions is the increasing cost of living. While only 30% of Swiss residents are unhappy with the increases these days, check out
here to see how Canadians feel. Also get further business insights into UBS’ research into pension gaps including Canada and Switzerland and discover what you need to consider today to secure the life you want tomorrow. Or read up on Swiss films, like William Tell” premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), the new film production that will be shot in Nova Scotia, or a Swiss Quebec series “Soleil Noir”.
Last but not least, a big welcome to our newly joined members listed below. Please read the newest membership profile of
