Organized by the Swiss Embassy, a delegation of presidents and rectors of Switzerland’s top universities and world-renowned Federal Institutes of technology Zurich and Lausanne, representatives of Swiss business associations, Swiss parliamentarians and representatives of the Swiss National Science Foundation came for a visit to Toronto in mid April. The visit underlines the long-standing close cooperation between Switzerland and Canada in the areas of science and innovation. It aims to strengthen the bilateral collaboration between the two trustworthy partners based on research ecosystems that share similar aspirations for academic excellence paired with pragmatic links to the private sector. One part of the delegation featured key innovative topics such as quantum technology, next trends in artificial intelligence and the sound translation from research to the market. This was hosted at the University of Toronto with their delegates.
