Canadian and Swiss employees are at the opposite ends of the office stress spectrum. According to a survey done by Gallup on 122,416 employees in 145 countries, Canadian employees are amongst the most stressed workers in the world with 56% reporting a stressful environment. The Swiss, on the other hand, only report the same in 35% of cases, and were the least stressed country in the survey. One of the main factors in office stress, according to this article, is the quality of management. Whether or not one works from home does not seem to have much of an influence on perceived stress.

A group of researchers from the ETH Zurich did a thorough study of Calgary’s downtown in terms of the city’s design and its housing types. They looked at aspects like walkability and the mix of housing available, finding that the city was overly car-oriented with a lot of the available space used for parking lots rather than for increased urban density. Recent zoning changes in Calgary, however, may make the development of the ‘missing middle’ possible inn the near future.

The Canadian tourism organizations are trying to motivate international travelers to come back to Canada after long years of suspended activity thanks to the pandemic. Even though Switzerland does not seem to be one of the core markets for the Canadian (probably due to size) the Swiss have great desire to come to Canada and they are actually a group that is among the biggest spenders, once they arrive here.
