Switzerland is the runner-up, just behind the USA, for higher education achievements in the 2019 ranking put out by U21 ranking from the University of Melbourne (Australia). Canada ranked in the 6th position, just outside the top five.

Roger Federer impressed by young Canadian tennis players Felix Auger-Aliassime and Denis Shapovalov. Federer says he suspected Auger-Aliassime would rise the rankings quickly even when he trained with him in 2017.

Is Canada really a leader in AI? Les Affaires claims, that despite its reputation, Canada does not actually have very many AI experts nor does AI developed in Canada have much impact on industrial sectors at large. What’s more, Canada and Switzerland are the two countries that lose most locally trained talent to foreign companies (mostly in the USA).

Where do the Swiss emigrate? According to this article on bluewin.ch there are almost 200,000 Swiss nationals in France. Canada is 5th most common destination for Swiss emigrants; there are 40,000 Swiss citizens here (by comparison, there are 80,400 in the USA). Canada has more Swiss immigrants even than the UK!

A recent study by Switzerland Global Enterprise and Credit Suisse underlines Canada as one of the most important established markets for Swiss companies. Exports  to Canada were valued at CHF 3.7 billion in 2018 and have grown at an annual rate of 7.5% in the last 20 years. Read more in an article in the Handelszeitung:
